Molecular Formula: Mg(OH)2Cas No.: 1309-42-8Use: Magnesium hydroxide is a non-halogen flame retardant recommended where use of halogenated products is limited or prohibited. In addition, it is an excellent smoke suppressant and acid scavenger. Its high thermal stability, up to 340°C, enables its use where Aluminum trihydrate is not sufficiently stable. It is used as a flame retardant and smoke suppressant in cables, LD and HDPE, PP homo and copolymers and nylons. It is employed as a smoke suppressant in PVC. It is available in several surface-treated grades which are suited to specific applications.Storage and Handling: Store in a dry, cool, well ventilated area.Information Provided by Oceanchem Group
